What’s New in BIM?
We are now seeing a significantly higher number of tenders with stringent BIM requirements from both the public and private sectors. Here’s a few frameworks that will require BIM compliance and illustrate the scale of the roll out within the industry:
1) The South East and South West DIO frameworks have a combined potential value of £1.2bn.
2) The Water and Environment Agency (WEM Lot 4) framework is £1bn in value.
3) A proportion of the £1.5bn spend by the Education Funding Agency to convert state schools to academies will require BIM compliance.
4) And finally a large proportion of the HS2 £42.6bn will be BIM Level 2.
In total that’s nearly £50bn worth of potential BIM contracts!
That’s a significant amount of investment into infrastructure and construction projects.
